D6951 tops the summit of the Cambrian Main line at Talerddig with the Manchester Piccadily - Aberystwyth / Barmouth service on 6th August 1966. The was the first year when diesels worked regular turns on the Cambrian, when EE Type 3's as they were then known diagrammed for this working. It was not until 19 years later in 1985, that 37's reappeared on regular Cambrian duties.
